- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Melt the semisweet or milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water (double boiler) or in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
- Dip two-thirds of each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, using a spoon to help coat evenly. Swirl gently to create textured branches. Tap off excess chocolate.
- Place dipped pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart to prevent touching during setting.
- While chocolate remains wet, drizzle with melted white chocolate in zigzag patterns if desired, then sprinkle with assorted sprinkles and place a candy star or pearl on top of each tree.
- Allow trees to set at room temperature for approximately 20 minutes, or refrigerate for 10 minutes until chocolate hardens completely.
- Once fully set, carefully remove from parchment paper and serve immediately or package individually as gifts.
